Prepare a Gentle Cleaning Solution
Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or detergents they can damage waterproof coatings.
Instead, mix:
- Lukewarm water, and
- A small amount of mild soap or non-detergent cleaner (like Nikwax Tech Wash or simple dish soap).
This gentle mix will remove dirt while preserving the waterproof layer.
Hand Wash — Don’t Machine Wash
Fill a basin or tub with your cleaning solution. Use a soft sponge or cloth to gently scrub the bag’s surface. Focus on high-contact areas such as straps, zippers, and seams.
Tip: For stubborn stains, let the area soak for 5–10 minutes before wiping it clean.
Avoid using brushes with stiff bristles or putting your bag in a washing machine — this can damage the waterproof coating and seams.
Air Dry Naturally
Wipe off any excess water with a towel, then let your bag air dry naturally.
Hang it upside down in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
Avoid using a dryer or any heat source, as this can damage the material and weaken the waterproof coating.
Maintain the Waterproof Coating
Over time, the protective waterproof layer of your bag may wear off.
To restore it, you can apply a waterproofing spray designed for technical fabrics or outdoor gear.
This will help revive the bag’s original protection against water and moisture, keeping it performing like new.
